Q: What is the difference between the basic system and the one with sales option?

The difference is that the sales option allows you to track sales and/or service jobs and write invoices, packing slips, job orders and similar in addition to all the standard functions. The Sales option is specifically designed for businesses with repeat customers, whereas the standard one contains only generic contact functionality.

Q: Can I share data over a network?

Simply Contacts Database allows multiple users to share the same data using a local area network. This can be done with both Access database engine or with SQL Server. It is a simple solution for a database of up to tens of thousands records on a small local network or a database of hundred thousand records on a single computer. SQL Server can share databases of tens to hundreds thousands of records over local networks, virtual private networks (VPN) or the Internet, but requires a server and assistance of an IT professional to set up.

Q: Can I share data with remote users?
Not all of our staff are on a local network. Can we still use your system?

Q: How many licenses do I need?
Can I use the program at home and at work at a cost of a single license?

A: You will need as many licenses as you have people using the system at the same time. For more information please see our License Agreement.

Q: Can I import data into the program?
I have some records in Excel spreadsheet. Can I import these your contacts software? Can I add to this database as I make calls and gather more clients?

A: Yes, you can load data from Excel and other file formats. You then can add more records into the database from the program itself or by importing more files.

Q: What are the system requirements for the program?
Does it run on Macintosh?

A: Simply Contacts Database is a Windows desktop program. It will run on any Windows operating system, such as 98/ME/2000/XP/Server 2000 or 2003. It does not run on Macintosh, but in a multi-user environment there is a way to share the system with Macintosh users. More information on system requirements. Q: Does your program work on Macintosh?

A: No, unfortunately not. Our software only runs on Windows.

Q: Can the program display my reminders automatically when I start it?

A: Use the "Reminders every morning" add-on. This will automatically list any reminders when the program starts. You  can display them again at any time using function "My Reminders for Today".
