"How do I upgrade the program to a new version?"

To fully implement the new functionality you need to change both the program and the database file. Please follow these steps:

  1. Install the new version
  2. Create a blank data file
  3. Copy the data into the new data file

 

Install the New Version

  1. Make a backup copy of your existing data file.
  2. Install the new version of the program. If the program prompts how to handle existing installation, select Overwrite:

 

Create a Blank Data File

Start the program and select function: New Users: Create a New Data file.

 

Copy the Data into the New Data File

  1. Go to Data Exchange Department and select function Load from another Simply Contacts data file.
  2. When prompted, select your old data file created with the previous version, then follow the prompts.
